The wedding of Bogart and Matt in Yarra Glen was a gorgeous occasion and being their Balgownie Estate Wedding DJ was an absolute honour.
Matt Jefferies Entertainment provided the Balgownie Estate wedding DJ services, including taking on the role of MC. The happy couple also chose to include the Dry Ice Effect for their first dance, and our popular Mirror Photo Booth. The photobooth was hit with all the guests.
Bogart and Matt’s wedding was a huge success, with some serious party vibes happening as their Balgownie Estate wedding DJ! This wedding was a cocktail affair with delicious canape-style food on offer.
On the day, the sun was shining, with clear blue skies surrounding the wedding venue. The weather was perfect – neither too hot nor too cold – and Flowers by Megan had created an amazing atmosphere with floral arrangements. Bogart looked absolutely stunning in her gown, with her hair by Hair by JC. They got married on the deck at Balgownie Estate in the Yarra Valley, with Abbie Frew Celebrant helping them tie the knot.
While setting up the equipment inside the venue, our crew had the fortune of hearing the ceremony. Abbie shared beautiful, inspiring words, and the wedding clearly showed how much Bogart and Matt love each other.
Photographer extraordinaire, MEO Weddings, led the couple, bridal party, and their families around the grounds after the ceremony, snapping incredible wedding photos. While waiting, guests had the chance to play the awesome lawn games provided by the thoughtful groom. Their Balgownie Estate wedding package also provided services for guests, who chatted with each other over some bubbly and beer.
Formalities to Fun…
After the ceremony and photos, the party began in earnest. The Matt Jefferies Entertainment team began the reception with the couple’s grand entrance. This included introducing all the bridesmaids and groomsmen, before announcing the newlyweds.
In our pre-wedding meetings, Bogart and Matt expressed the wish to get all the formalities out of the way early. As their MC, it was my job to make sure their wishes were granted. The important formalities – speeches, cutting of the magnificent Creme De La Cakes wedding cake, and then the first dance.
And what a first dance!
Dylan Raath Music played a wonderful acoustic set for the first hour of the reception, which included the first dance song “Latch”. Matt Jefferies Entertainment added a touch of romance with the ever-popular dry ice effect.
At this point it was time to get everyone onto the dance floor. The entertainment moved from Dylan Raath Music’s set to Matt Jefferies Entertainment’s work as the couple’s professional Yarra Valley wedding DJ. We began with the original version of the first dance song “Latch” by Disclosure, and it just got better!
The DJ set included everything from the ‘70s, ‘80s, 90s and today. Bogart’s love of R&B music was well catered for and received. In addition, the DJ audience-reading skills that have been honed through years of experience was in full force. The music mix was varied so that there was something for everyone, covering all eras and music styles. The dance floor was busy all evening, and the enjoyment shone through with lots of sing-a-longs and a pretty impressive conga line!
Matt Jefferies Entertainment’s Mirror Photo Booth was also a key part of the wedding entertainment, with the gold-framed photo mirror creating and capturing memories. Guests had plenty of fun using custom-made props, taking photos and printing them out. They could also send photos immediately to their phones.
The Grand Finale
The evening ended too quickly for Bogart and Matt, finishing in style with a sparkler exit that included an archway of guests for the newly married couple.
After their departure, the guests requested a last song – Sandstorm by Darude. The dance floor filled with partygoers, the Balgownie Estate wedding ended on a brilliant high, with even a few staff members dancing along as they packed up for the evening.
