FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Can we customise the music?
Yes! We provide an online event planner where you can list your music requests, preferred genres, and special songs (such as entrance songs, first dance, etc.). We will then build the music for your wedding based on your preferences to make sure it reflects your style.
Do you bring your own sound system and lighting?
Yes, we provide a professional sound system and dance floor lighting suitable for most wedding venues.
Do you provide microphones for speeches?
Yes, we provide wireless microphone for speeches.
Do you act as the MC as well?
We can definitely assist with Basic MC duties, such as announcing entrances, speeches, cake cutting, and other formalities.
Do you take guest requests?
Yes, we do take guest requests as long as the song is not included in the couple’s “Do Not Play” list. Our goal is to keep the dance floor fun while respecting your preferences.
What if the DJ is sick?
While we are a sole-operator service, in the unlikely event that DJ Matt becomes unwell, we will organise a trusted DJ that we regularly work with to cover your wedding. We will handle everything to ensure your event runs smoothly and stress-free.
Do you coordinate with the venue and other suppliers?
Absolutely. We often coordinate with the venue coordinator, photographer, videographer, and planner to ensure the timeline flows smoothly.
What kind of music do you play?
We play a wide range of music including Top 40, Pop and R&B, hip hop, 70s, 80s, 90s, dance, country, house music, alternative/rock and party favourites. We tailor the music based on your preferences and the energy of your guests.
Can we extend the DJ service on the night?
Yes, extensions may be possible depending on availability and venue’s approval. Additional hourly rates may apply if you decide to continue the party longer.
How early do you arrive for setup?
We typically arrive 2 to 3 hours before the event start time to allow enough time for setup, sound checks, and coordination with the venue. This ensures everything is ready before guests arrive.
Do you travel outside Melbourne?
Yes, we service selected areas in Victoria outside Melbourne. Travel fees may apply depending on the location. Please contact us to check if we service your area.
How far in advance should we book?
Most couples book 9 to 18 months in advance, especially for peak wedding dates. We recommend booking early to secure your preferred date.
What is the deposit fee to secure the date?
A $400 deposit is required to secure your DJ booking, or $500 for our DJ and Photo Booth packages. The deposit is non-refundable, but it can be transferred to a new date in the event of a postponement, subject to availability.
