Wedding DJ Yarra Valley 1982 Most Requested Songs
Matt Jefferies Entertainment – Wedding DJ Melbourne Music Tips
1982 was the year of some smash hit classic songs that get requested at weddings for the past years of my Wedding DJ Yarra Valley Melbourne experience.
When it comes to making a grand entrance into your wedding reception, “Eye Of The Tiger” by Survivor is a popular choice as well as being used quite often for the garter removal moment. This song is definitely one of my most requested songs at weddings.
Songs like “Mickey” by Toni Basil, “Come on Eileen” by Dexy’s Midnight Runners and “Jack and Diane” by John Cougar also get requested on the dance floor as guests dance and sing at the top of their voices.
Did You Know:
Toni Basil, famous for writing the hit single “Mickey”, actually did not write the song and it was initially not called “Mickey”. It was written by a band called Racey which released it on their album “Smash and Grab” in 1979 but was later released and Toni Basil changed the name from “Kitty” to “Mickey” on her debut album called “Word of Mouth”. The song name was changed to make the song about a man says Toni Basil.
Fun Fact:
“Eye of the Tiger” was the theme song to Rocky 3 which starred Sylvester Stallone as the lead character and was the biggest movie of 1982. Same goes for the hit song which peaked at number one on most of the charts around the world and was the biggest song of 1982.
